Meet Kayden
I have had the privilege of working as a paralegal at Pace Johnson Law Group for the past two years, where I focus on assisting incarcerated individuals in preparing for their hearings and petitioning for parole before the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole. This work is incredibly meaningful to me—not just because it’s my profession, but because it is deeply personal. Having experienced the challenges of having loved ones incarcerated, I truly understand the emotional and mental toll it takes on both the individuals and their families. This personal connection to the work fuels my passion for providing the detailed and compassionate support our clients deserve.
Before becoming a paralegal, I worked as a legal assistant with Pace Johnson Law Group while we served as the contact attorneys for the Utah State Correctional Facility. During that year, I had the opportunity to assist incarcerated individuals with a wide range of legal needs, helping them navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system. This experience gave me invaluable insight into the struggles individuals face within the correctional system, and it reinforced my commitment to supporting those seeking a second chance.

Background - Paralegal at Pace Johnson Law Group
In my current role, I work closely with our attorneys to prepare legal petitions, review case files, and compile all necessary documentation for parole hearings. I ensure every detail is carefully addressed, knowing that these hearings are critical opportunities for our clients to move forward in their lives. I take great pride in my work because I understand how much is at stake for the individuals and families I assist. Each case is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone's future, and that is something I don't take lightly.
What drives me every day is my belief in second chances. The legal process can be complex and overwhelming, but I strive to make it as understandable and accessible as possible for those I serve. I take the time to explain each step of the process, answer any questions, and offer guidance with patience and empathy. My role is not just to handle legal paperwork, but to advocate for the people behind those cases, ensuring that they are heard and given a fair opportunity to make their case before the Board of Pardons and Parole.
Throughout my journey at Pace Johnson Law Group, I’ve seen firsthand how impactful proper legal support can be. I’ve worked with numerous clients who, despite their challenges, have been able to secure parole and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. These victories are what keep me motivated and reaffirm my belief that everyone deserves the chance to start anew.
My work is not just about legal procedures—it’s about the individuals and families whose lives can be changed through a fair hearing and a second chance. I take this responsibility seriously and approach every case with the utmost care, understanding, and dedication. I am honored to be part of a team that fights for those who need it most, and I remain committed to advocating for incarcerated individuals, ensuring they receive the support and opportunities they deserve.
